Vespa is kicking off 2024 with the launch of the limited edition 946 Dragon scooter, designed to celebrate the Year of the Dragon in the Lunar Calendar. The scooter features a subtle golden hue, symbolizing the power and prosperity associated with the mythical creature. It will make its global debut at an exclusive event in Hong Kong on January 24, 2024.
Limited to just 1,888 units, the Vespa 946 Dragon will be available in key markets, including the US and Canada. The scooter showcases a vibrant emerald green dragon design, reminiscent of traditional Chinese depictions of the creature. This design represents energy, class, and sophistication. Vespa emphasizes that the Dragon edition mirrors the brand's scooters, combining craftsmanship and modern technology.
Based on the impressive Vespa 946 model, the Dragon edition retains all the features of its base model. It is equipped with a 150cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected, four-valve engine, producing 11.3 horsepower and 7.6 pound-feet of torque. The scooter also incorporates modern elements like LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, and a digital instrument cluster.
In conjunction with the launch of the special edition scooter, Vespa has also introduced the Dragon Varsity Jacket. Made from ribbed wool and nappa leather, the jacket features an intricate dragon motif and the Vespa V monogram. It echoes the scooter's legacy and style and is hand-crafted in Italy.
The Vespa 946 Dragon will be available at US dealerships in March 2024 with a price tag of $13,499 USD. In Canada, it will launch in April 2024 at an MSRP of $16,995 CAD.
