The 2024 Kawasaki KLR650 lineup has received new color options, continuing its legacy as a versatile and reliable adventure bike. Consisting of three trims - the KLR650, KLR650 S, and KLR650 Adventure ABS - these models offer a range of features to suit different riding preferences.
Under the hood, all three trims are powered by a liquid-cooled DOHC four-stroke 652cc single-cylinder engine, delivering 34.6 horsepower and 33.5 lb.-ft. of torque. The newer models come with fuel injection via a 40mm throttle body, eliminating the need for carburetor tuning. The transmission is a five-speed, and the clutch is cable actuated.
In terms of suspension, the KLR650 and KLR650 Adventure offer 7.9 and 8.0 inches of travel, respectively, while the KLR650 S has slightly less suspension travel at 6.7 and 7.0 inches front and rear. The KLR650 S also features a thinner seat, resulting in a lower seat height of 32.1 inches.
All trims feature a semi-double cradle frame made of tubular steel and ride on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels equipped with Dunlop K750 tires. Braking is handled by a dual-piston front caliper and a single-piston rear caliper, with ABS available on certain models.
The KLR650 Adventure ABS stands out with its additional accessories, including Shad hard saddlebags, LED fog lamps, engine guards, and DC and USB sockets. It is available in Pearl Matte Sage Green and Metallic Matte Twilight Blue.
Pricing for the 2024 Kawasaki KLR650 and KLR650 S starts at $6,899, while the KLR650 Adventure ABS is priced at $8,199. All trims are currently available at Kawasaki dealerships.
With its reliable powertrain, capable suspension, and versatile features, the 2024 Kawasaki KLR650 lineup continues to offer adventure enthusiasts a thrilling and dependable ride for their off-road escapades.
