The 2024 Moto Guzzi V85 range has received some exciting updates, including the addition of variable valve timing, a six-axis IMU, and a new street-focused V85 Strada variant. While the overall design of the V85 range remains familiar, Moto Guzzi has made some subtle refinements to give the bikes a slightly more modern look.
One notable change is the replacement of the steel trellis headlight and instrument panel mount with a new die-cast aluminum piece. The V85 TT and V85 TT Travel models also feature an aluminum grab rail as standard, with the option to add it to the V85 Strada. The windscreen has been redesigned and is now adjustable, offering a 37% reduction in air pressure to the rider. Wider handguards and a new tank cover near the ignition lock further enhance rider comfort by reducing airflow.
All three variants of the V85 range are powered by an air-cooled 853cc 90° V-Twin engine with variable valve timing. This not only helps the bikes comply with Euro 5+ requirements but also improves torque delivery. Moto Guzzi claims a peak output of 61.2 lb-ft of torque at 5,100 rpm, with 90% of that available at 3,500 rpm. The peak power output has also increased to 80 hp at 7,750 rpm.
The V85 TT models now come equipped with a six-axis IMU, enabling cornering ABS. The electronics package includes cruise control, traction control, and ride-by-wire throttle control with selectable ride modes. All three variants offer Road, Sport, and Rain modes, with the V85 TT and V85 TT Travel adding an Off-Road mode. The V85 TT Travel also features a Custom mode for personalized settings.
The suspension and braking systems remain largely unchanged from the previous model, with adjustable front forks and a single rear shock. Dual 320mm discs with Brembo four-piston calipers provide stopping power at the front, while a 260mm disc with a two-piston caliper handles the rear.
The new V85 Strada variant is focused on road riding, featuring cast aluminum alloy wheels and Dunlop Trailmax Meridian tires. It sheds some weight by losing handguards and a skid plate, resulting in a claimed curb weight of 498 pounds.
Overall, the 2024 Moto Guzzi V85 range offers a blend of modern technology and classic styling, providing riders with a versatile and capable adventure motorcycle for both on and off-road adventures.
