CFMOTO is gearing up for the production of its highly anticipated adventure bike, the 800MT-X. This model is expected to hit the market soon and align with CFMOTO's existing 800MT lineup. In the United States, the bike may bear the name Ibex 800 S and Ibex 800 T, similar to its counterparts.
The 800MT-X is powered by the proven 799cc LC8c twin-cylinder engine, which is a result of the collaboration between CFMOTO and KTM. This engine has been successful in KTM's 790 Duke/Adventure, Husqvarna Svartpilen 801, CFMOTO 800NK, and Ibex models. Despite being replaced by larger versions in KTM's range, the LC8c remains modern, compact, and lightweight.
In terms of weight, the 800MT-X is slightly lighter than the 790 Adventure, with an empty weight of 213.6 kg. CFMOTO has also homologated a variant with mounted aluminum luggage, increasing the curb weight to 234.9 kg. The bike offers various options, including different windshield heights, luggage configurations, and front fender choices.
While the production version of the 800MT-X has made some modifications compared to the concept showcased at EICMA, it still promises an impressive performance. The bike features J.Juan calipers (similar to those used by KTM) instead of the Brembo front calipers seen in the concept version. Additionally, passenger footrests have been added, and the Akrapovič show bike exhaust will be replaced with a road-ready CFMOTO-designed exhaust.
With homologation now complete, the 800MT-X is expected to roll off the production lines soon. This global model marks CFMOTO's entry into the adventure bike market, directly competing with its partner, KTM. Motorcycle enthusiasts around the world can look forward to experiencing the CFMOTO 800MT-X's adventure-ready capabilities.
