The highly anticipated 2024 Triumph TF 250-X motocross bike has finally been unveiled, giving enthusiasts a closer look at its features and specifications. Triumph designed this bike with power and performance in mind, aiming to provide the broadest, most usable, and highest peak power in its class.
The TF 250-X is equipped with a fuel-injected liquid-cooled DOHC four-stroke 250cc single-cylinder engine. Triumph claims that it produces 47.3 horsepower and 21.1 lb-ft of torque, making it a formidable competitor in the 250F division. The DOHC cylinder head utilizes finger followers to reduce valve train weight, and the connecting rod features a plain bearing design to increase peak power and rpm. The bike also features a traditional close-ratio five-speed gearbox.
When it comes to air intake and filtration, the TF 250-X utilizes a Twin Air filter and an airbox with a vented cover. Triumph includes a non-vented cover for extreme conditions. The stock exhaust system features an integrated Helmholtz resonance chamber on the header and an additional side resonator in the muffler. For those looking for even more power, Triumph offers an Akrapovič full titanium Evolution Line exhaust system that is lighter than stock and provides a strong increase in power.
The TF 250-X comes with a Dell’Orto 44mm throttle body with a single Keihin vertically pointed injector for precise fuel and air regulation. The bike also features a Brembo hydraulic clutch system, ensuring smooth and consistent clutch engagement. Electronic features are controlled by a Get ECU, and riders can connect wirelessly to load additional predesigned maps, monitor the EFI system, and check fault codes through Triumph's MX Tune Pro app.
Suspension duties are handled by KYB, with an Air-Oil Separate 48mm closed-cartridge coil-spring fork in the front and a KYB shock in the rear. Both offer adjustability for compression and rebound damping. Brembo hydraulics control the brakes, with a 260mm disc in the front and a 220mm disc in the rear. The bike rides on D.I.D DirtStar 7000 series aluminum rims paired with Pirelli Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft tires.
The 2024 Triumph TF 250-X comes with a ProTaper ACF handlebar, Neken 7075-T6 forged and fully machined aluminum triple clamps, and a tucked-away hourmeter behind the front number plate. It is available in Triumph Racing yellow/black/white and has an MSRP of $9,995. The bike is set to hit dealership floors in March 2024.
With its impressive power, advanced features, and attention to detail, the 2024 Triumph TF 250-X is sure to be a top choice for motocross enthusiasts looking for a high-performance bike.
