BMW has given the S1000 XR adventure-sports tourer a thorough overhaul for 2024, introducing a range of improvements to enhance performance and comfort. More Power
BMW has increased the output of the S1000 XR's motor from 165 hp to 170 hp at 11,000 rpm. This boost in power is attributed to the optimization of intake channel geometry and customized mapping. The result is improved airflow and refined electronics, providing riders with enhanced performance.
Creature Comforts
One notable change is the complete redesign of the motorcycle's seat. It now sits 10 mm higher at 850 mm, offering riders greater ease in finding comfort or adjusting their body position for more aggressive riding. The seat height is also adjustable in three ways, allowing for personalized comfort settings. The suspension has been fine-tuned to improve overall comfort, while the redesigned rear bodywork contributes to enhanced ergonomics.
A Fresh Look
In terms of aesthetics, the S1000 XR sports new side panels and intake vents that lend a sportier appearance. Updated radiator trim and a painted "adventure beak" in the color of the bike further add to its refreshed look.
Additional Enhancements
BMW has included its leaning-sensitive Headlight Pro as standard, along with a USB charging port and keyless ignition. The battery capacity has been increased to 12 Ah, offering improved reliability. In the US, buyers have the option to add E-Call emergency alerts and can choose from various accessories from the M-series catalog, such as the M Carbon wheels or the M GPS Laptrigger for trackdays.
New Paint Options
The 2024 BMW S1000 XR is available in striking paint options, including Blackstorm metallic, Gravityblue metallic, and Lightwhite solid paint/Motorsport.
