The Buell Super Cruiser, designed by Roland Sands, was unveiled in February 2023. Sands worked closely with Buell CEO Bill Melvin to incorporate as much of the standard Buell rolling kit as possible into the cruiser-style packaging. The Super Cruiser features the same 1,190cc liquid-cooled ET-V2 V-twin engine, adjustable fork, and 17-inch alloy wheels with a perimeter braking system as the Buell 1190 platform. The styling of the Super Cruiser is inspired by Harley-Davidson's FXR model, with blacked-out components, tall bars, and a quarter fairing.
In 2024, the preproduction model of the Super Cruiser was showcased. The bike retains the FXR-inspired design, with a quarter fairing, wide fuel tank, raised handlebars, and a tall one-piece seat. The bike features the same engine and exhaust system as the 1190 platform, with minor differences in tune. The Super Cruiser offers an upright riding position, with mid-mount foot controls and a comfortable seat.
On the road, the Super Cruiser delivers a powerful performance, with a claimed 175 hp and strong torque. The bike is nimble and stops quickly, thanks to its lightweight and signature perimeter braking system. The cockpit of the Super Cruiser is compact, with basic switchgear and a simple digital display. While the bike may not offer many creature comforts, it delivers an exhilarating ride.
Buell plans to start production of the Super Cruiser in 2025, with an expected price in the mid-$20,000 range. The company aims to produce 2,000 to 5,000 units in the first year and will offer the bike in a black color option. Buell also plans to establish showrooms and service centers in major metropolitan areas. The Super Cruiser has generated significant interest, with many enthusiasts eager to see if Buell can deliver a reliable and unique product.
