Kawasaki Expands Dual-Sport Lineup with 2025 KLX 300

Kawasaki Expands Dual-Sport Lineup with 2025 KLX 300

Kawasaki is broadening its off-road offerings with the introduction of the 2025 KLX 300, a versatile dual-sport motorcycle aimed at adventurous riders. Unlike the track-focused KLX 300R, this new model is street-legal, making it a compelling option for those seeking both on-road and off-road capabilities.

The 2025 KLX 300 carries a suggested retail price of $6,199 in the United States, a slight premium over the $6,299 KLX 300R. While the KLX 300R is available in India, the road-going variant is unlikely to make its way there due to pricing concerns. Instead, Kawasaki is focusing its efforts on localizing the more affordable Versys-X 300 for the Indian market, expected to launch later this year.

Under the hood, the KLX 300 packs a proven 292cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 28.6 horsepower and 26.3 Newton-meters of torque. This power is channeled through a six-speed gearbox, providing the versatility to tackle both paved and unpaved terrain.

Suspension duties are handled by 43mm upside-down forks up front and a linkage-type mono-shock at the rear, complemented by 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tires. This setup promises a balance of off-road capability and on-road comfort.

While the 2025 model year doesn't bring any significant mechanical changes, Kawasaki has updated the graphics, offering the KLX 300 in a choice of Lime Green or Battle Gray liveries. This subtle refresh should keep the bike looking fresh in the eyes of prospective buyers.
