CSC's Wolf 125 Aims to Capture the Spirit of the Honda Super Cub

CSC's Wolf 125 Aims to Capture the Spirit of the Honda Super Cub

Honda revolutionized the motorcycle industry in 1958 with the launch of the Super Cub C100, selling over 100 million units worldwide, making it the most popular motor vehicle of all time. Known in the U.S. as the Honda 50, it was affordable, priced at $275 back then (about $2,900 today), and designed for simplicity and ease of use, appealing to families.

Fast forward to 2024, California Scooter Company (CSC) is introducing the Wolf 125, a step-through trail bike that aims to compete with Honda's latest Trail 125. Priced at just $1,995, the Wolf 125 offers an attractive alternative, boasting a 119.6cc single-cylinder engine that produces 8.72 hp and a remarkable estimated fuel economy of over 125 mpg.

Weighing in at 225 lb (102 kg), the Wolf features a 4-speed semi-automatic transmission, allowing riders to reach speeds of 55 mph (89 km/h). It’s street-legal in all 50 states and comes equipped with a luggage rack, USB port, and a center stand for convenience.

While the Wolf 125 has a drum brake in the rear and a modern disc brake in the front, it retains a nostalgic kick-starter alongside a digital display. With CSC’s focus on affordability and functionality, the Wolf 125 may just capture the spirit of the Super Cub for a new generation, proving that value and fun can coexist on two wheels.
