Niu XQi3: Niu's First Electric Dual-Sport Bike Set to Hit European Markets in 2024

Niu XQi3: Niu's First Electric Dual-Sport Bike Set to Hit European Markets in 2024

Niu, a Chinese electric scooter manufacturer, is expanding its electric two-wheeler lineup with the introduction of the XQi3, its first electric dual-sport bike. The XQi3 will be available in Europe from the spring of 2024 in two variants: an off-road-only model called the Wild and a street-legal version called the Street.

The XQi3 is powered by a mid-drive motor with a chain final-drive system. It delivers about 10.7 horsepower and has a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph) for the Street model and 75 km/h (46.6 mph) for the Wild version with the Ultra-Boost feature. The bike features a low center of gravity thanks to the motor being housed at the bottom of the aluminum frame.

The XQi3 is equipped with an LG 72-volt, 32-amp-hour removable battery that provides a range of around 80 to 90 km (49 to 55 miles) on a single charge. The bike also boasts lightweight components, including long-travel suspension with adjustability, 19-inch spoked wheels with knobby tires, and front and rear disc brakes.

In terms of technology, the XQi3 comes with full-LED lighting, a TFT display with smartphone connectivity and NFC unlocking, GPS navigation, and a USB-C charger. The Street version adds turn signals, rear-view mirrors, and a license plate holder.

The Niu XQi3 will retail for 5,999 euros (approximately $6,574 USD) and will be available in various colors and graphics. It aims to offer riders a capable and tech-packed electric dual-sport bike for both on-road and off-road adventures.
